Short Biography

Goldberg & Connolly represents all of the “players” in construction, including private owners and developers, construction contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers and suppliers, sureties, and government agencies. Consistent with this experience, Mr. Goldberg enjoys a working relationship with the leadership of most contracting agencies in the NYC metropolitan market.

Among his many construction industry leadership roles, Mr. Goldberg is counsel to the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) – Metro New York / New Jersey Chapter, the NYC Subcontractors Trade Association (STA), and the NYC Surety Association. He is also the former president of the New York City Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and a founding Board Member and counsel to the Long Island Chapter.

Active in the New York Building Congress, Mr. Goldberg has served as Chairman of its Public Procurement Committee. In addition, Mr. Goldberg has been honored to be admitted as one of the select non-contractor members of The Moles, the prestigious fraternal organization of the heavy construction industry, and one of the most respected heavy civil engineering organizations in the world.

Goldberg is also an active member and supporter of virtually every NY-based construction industry association, including:

  • General Contractors Association of New York (GCA)

  • Associated General Contractors of America (AGC)

  • Construction Industry Council (CIC) of Westchester and Hudson Valley

  • Long Island Contractors Association (LICA)

  • National Contract Management Association (NCMA)

He is a longstanding member of the American Bar Association’s Public Contract Law and Fidelity and Surety Law Committees, as well as the Forum on the Construction Industry.

Mr. Goldberg is currently Editor-in-Chief of the notable Matthew Bender three-volume treatise, Federal Contract Management – A Manual for the Contract Professional, published by LexisNexis. He also serves on the National Advisory Committee of The Journal of Construction Accounting and Taxation, published by Warren Gorham & Lamont, and was recently appointed as Expert Advisor to the American Arbitration Association.
